A tad damp here.....

So as you've no doubt seen on the news, we've had a bit of weather in SW England recently. Luckily we live on the side of a hill so no flooding here, although the horses' field is pretty soggy......but nothing as bad as these poor horses in Dorset, so mustn't complain.....
Despite the weather we've kept the troops ticking over, the girls have been out in hand, and the water is a handy training exercise for them!
Even got the old boy to trot through this lot the other morning - good job they put a sign up, eh? ;-)
I am a happy bunny as now I have a nice new phone with a very clever camera, I can do shots like these.....

Going to have fun with it taking pics of Ali jumping, she's got a first lesson booked at the local stables next week, watch this space.....

Some photos......

A few more pics from the jumping on Sunday from the aforementioned posh camera, love this one of Fina in the air, shame about the poles in the way!
Then there's this one of Elodie jmping without stirrups after Peter put in a stop, well done that girl!
And I loved this spotty horse, jumped nicely and went clear
And here's Ali getting her prize
and Polo sampling some wine!

A couple more pics from today, from Éowyn's lesson at Louise's, they went for a hack and she was delighted with the new pony, Poppy, just the right size for her........ really should have kept Flecha, shouldn't I?

Backing the donkey

Had an idea for another fancy dress picture for our charity calendar today. So armed with a selection of sheets and scarves, I went to see Ross the donkey. Rossy has never even had a saddle on his back so we started with that, he sniffed it a bit but didn't seem to bothered when I strapped it on....

Then we leaned Éowyn over his back, he was fine, so on she got....

He was very good, especially when she leaned forward and gave him some carrots! So we got the kids kitted out for their fancy dress shot, Rossy didn't even mind having the dress draped over him.

Such a good boy!

Medieval Mayhem in Bonneville......

We are organising a charity calendar this year featuring some fancy dress photos of our horses and today we did a photoshoot. So here's Gandalf the Grey as a medieval destrier:

and Maverick as a lady's palfrey:

We had lots of fun galloping up and down the field, Mike took tons of photos and we gave the locals something to stare at......
